i'm quite pleased with my newly built 44 mag on a
parker hale action. i put 60 rounds through her today
and shooting lee 240 gr RN, WW alloy water quenched
(snow slush in the water, super cold and super hard bullets). as u can see in the pic no bullet deforming at all.
no lead in the barrel either. lube is lee stick NRA formula.
the 5 to 7 gr bullseye loads are impressive as it is quiet
like 22 LR rimfire and no recoil. not the little diffewrance
between the 6 gr bullseye and 22.5 gr of H110. this was
shot at 15 yds.
this bunny is hopping with glee.

Yeah. I was real interested in the gun also. I'm a fan of the 44 magnum. Cheap to shoot and makes big holes on the target.

That's a real old PH.
How is it set up for magazine feed?
i have not done anything to the magazine yet. i shoot it
single shot. i'm waiting for my timiney triger from brownells. u notice the back scope ring is mounted
backwards. that was the only way i could get the scope
to line up with the barrel. i'm gona have 2 of these 44 mags. one with optics and one with peep sights
the peep one is a martini action that i made a pistol
grip stock and am waiting for a barrel from Ron Smith .
the stainless barrel was the same price as the cro-mo
barrel so i ordered the stainless and i will call this one
my black and white.

I love seeing nonstandard bolt rifles! Out of curiosity, why the .44 mag and not the .444?
wellllllll- it would be like somebody buying a 18 wheeler
to go to town to do grocery shopping. the 44 mag brass
is i/2 the price off 444, u use way less powder, u can use bullseye pistol powder which makes this a 44 wisper,
u use carbide dies which require no lubeing. it's pleanty
big for anything i want to shoot. one more thing, recoil!!!!!
this old bag of bones don't like reciol anymore. the parker
hale weighs 9 lbs with the heavey taper target barrel and
the recoil is like a 22LR Rimefire. well maybe a little more.
u get the picture.
