Parker Hale ident. help please

Hi guys, sorry to bother you, i don't usually post...well anything, let alone questions, but i am getting tired of running in circles on google, so here i am.

A friend brought me his Parker hale in 303 to get it cleaned up, and asked if i could get/install a scope mount.
Thing is i can't find a model number/name and looking at all the Enfield pictures out there hasn't helped me yet.

Serial number on left side of hand grip is F6**,
with all the usual "parker hale birmingham..." on the barrel.
Once stock is removed, only marking are "D" under receiver and a "B" over 44 at the base of the trigger.

On the left side picture, the red circle is where i see more material coming up on which a No4 scope mount would sit.
other then that is a picture from the top, and an other of the iron sight, i am guessing these were added by P&H.

Any leads, help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi i cant figure out how to post in the right area but hopefully someone can help me. I recently bought a PH 300 mag, I am not sure what the model is but. It has the same checkering and stock as the 303 above. It also has the gold plated trigger.
 
Then it must be a 1200 Super Magnum.
You will likely see the word "MAG" before the s/n on the front receiver ring.
Itwais built on a M98 made in Spain.
 
Baribal is almost certainly right about it being Parker-Hale's "Custom" level conversion but it is not a No.1, those have a round receiver. Yours has a flat-sided action so it was orginally a No.4 rifle and Parker-Hale removed the charger bridge (Weaver's TO-1 mount attached there) and the rear sight mounting area. Their side mount that attaches with three screws on your left side of the action is long out of production (Parker Hale ceased operations and sold its name years ago) but you might find one second hand. Then it will need P-H rings. I think it was the No.29 or A29 mount. You'd do as well to have a gunsmith take a piece of angle iron and drill it to attach to those three holes on the side with a non-specific Weaver mount on top.
 
That's an old thread revived, my friend, but you're right, it's a Custom No. 4.

Except fot the action, Custom No. 1 and No. 4 are pretty much the same thing.

Further to this conversation, with regard to the Parker Hale No. 4 rifles; which models were fit with Parker Hale barrels or was there any rhyme or reason to it?

I think new PH barrels were used when the originals were too bad. These are easy to spot - there is no flat on the top of the breech.
The stocks look similar because they were made for PH by Sile in Italy.

Making a scope base by using a piece of angle, and a Weaver flat bottomed base works really well. Use the three holes PH drilled and tapped in the left sidewall.
 
Actually one more question about the replacement Parker Hale barrels.

Were they newly manufactured barrels made for Parker Hale or were they left over military barrels cut down by Parker Hale.

Well, it's not easy to answer, as per P-H used both new and used barrels for their "sporters". Here's what they said about these;

Metal and woodwork are completely renovated. The barrels are selected to give ample reserve life with satisfactory accuracy

Then, on special order, they also offered to install "new, ball burnished target quality barrels".... but they also had standard grade new and used barrels.....
 
They must have been new, because the barrel breech does not have the top flat.
Incidentally, the absolute worst headspace that I have ever seen on any rifle was a PH sporter with one of the new barrels.
