I just picked up a Parker Hale 1200 Superclip 30-06 with the orginal scope which is a Weaver 3x9 Marksman the rifle has fired less 10 rds, I would rate it at 95 % what is the value of these types of rifles

Congrats on the awesome find. I've been looking for one just like it in .270 Win for quite awhile and haven't had much luck. Where did you find this one? These are super accurate, I used to have one but sold it.

i like these rifles a lot ....and thanks to xcaribooer i bought a great 308 ph from the EE. I have a feeling that it wont be my last. cant really put a finger on it they just seem.... and this my sound odd but they just seem pleasing in my hand...lol kinda like when lil wicket is in my hand.

I missed out on one like that last year,,,,waited to long and it was sold,,,it wasn't in a box but was like new. That stock is very nice

It wasn't a 30-06 at Valhalla gunshop that you missed out on was it? If so it was nice, don;t think it had ever been fired.

Parker Hale

I have a Parker hale in 7mm Rem Mag I have owned it since the 70's (approx new date 1972) I have shot the throat out of it so i need to rebarrel it ! I know all large ring mauser actions take the same barrel ! My question is ? is the action a Santa Barbara ? or FN Mauser ? or are they the same - its a hinged floor plate with gold colored trigger - the bolt is polished chrome not blued and the bolt release center bar is polished chrome not blued also ! JUST wondering not a big deal ! Thks for the help !
Any one know for sure ? Thks RJ :)

It's a Santa Barbara action, basically a Spanish made version of the FN commercial Mauser 98. - dan

Remove the barreled action from the stock and look at the left side of the tang. You should see a SPAIN stamped in a ground area. If so, then, you have a Santa Barbara action. P-H used whatever was availlable, but most of their late production rifles (made on FN Supreme style actions) were Santa-Barbara and you will likely have one.
To date a P-H rifle, you must provide us a picture of the Birmingham Proofhouse stamp, or at least a very clear description, which will be on the barrel, sometime under the woodline, and will by within an "X".

Thks for the help ! There is no Spain on the action or any other names- the trigger has Parker Hale England 98/148 on it . The barrel Proof House Stamp looks like a crown with the letters BNP under it . The bottom side of the barrel is marked 7m/ MAGNUM 2.5 " 19.5 TONS PER - bottom of the recoil lug has the letter M and also the numbers 259 The ser # of the rifle on the action is MAG-96###- upper of the barrel is marke 7 mm MAG and also PARKER-HALE LTD BIRMINGHAM ENGLAND- Thats everything- can you tell me anything more about this firearm ? Thanks RJ :)

Neat to see one NIB - I have one in 270 that was my first "real" rifle, and I'll never sell it. It has the patina of many a hunt on it now, but it still shoots exceptionally well.

The crown over BNP = Birmingham Nitro Proof.

7mm/Magnum 2.5" = the calibre and the length of the cartridge case in imperial measurements.

19.5 TONS PER [SQUARE SIGN]" = the test pressure in tons per square inch.

As Baribal notes, there should also be a crown over crossed sceptres with letters and numbers in the open sides of the crossed sceptres. This is the dating code he refers to.
