Parker hale m82-m87-C3-C3A1 Rifles

It would be nice to See some pics of yours Wayne. I know what your saying about trying to find some of the stuff that is hard to find. I would even like to know what was in it so that I could put one together my self.

Most of the C3 parts are very difficult to obtain. Any idea what the scope, sights, canvas scope case and rifle case are worth. Have only seen one scope for sale and that was a few years ago. It was purchased by a board member from out west to complete his project (since sold).....was a gem! Not sure if the scope was absolutely correct and from memory it was from New Zealand.

The rifle also came with a few more accessories like cleaning kit, cleaning rod , chamber stick, etc. Anybody got any of these items?

Yup, but they're not for sale:D!

The cleaning kit is the green plastic C1 SMG kit with the oil chamber.

The cleaning rod is a ParkerHale coated rod - 36 or 44" - both sizes were used.

Chamber stick is a custom 2 piece contraption dreamt up by the British for the L42A1 kit, and adopted by us.

The slings you already know about from my last few posts.

I'll snap some more pics later on for the enthusiastic on here.

Cheers, Carl

Carl: I have googled but no luck. Are any of the kit for the C3A1 available.Even if the wear is heavy it would be nice to have, to more complete the case.

All the info you have provided us with is great. It is helping me in completeing my build.

What is the purpose of the chamber stick.

Put a 4x2" cleaning swab on the end and insert into chamber. Then rotate to clean the mess out of the chamber.

Nothing special - just really practical application of old world technology.

Some stuff was commercially available - you just have to look for it.

The CF also has a nasty habit of throwing crap out via Crown assets - hit some surplus stores and troll the gunshows - you never know what you might find.

The Calgary gunshow coming up in Apr, should be a boon for tracking some of the stuff down - supposed to be the best gunshow in Canada.

Carl...was the C2 sling ever used...it appears identical to the C1 however has the wide shoulder pad to distribute the weight.

PS Nothing at Anscaster today.

Nope, just the C1A1 sling - stockpiles of them and recycling, was on their minds when they decided to use em.

I was told by Jim Leatherwood that the Canadian Military purchased and tested ART 3x9 rifle scopes. The scopes were made by Realist Optical. So I bought one and have it on a Remington 40xb. Anyone know anything about this.

Never heard or seen anything about this. Almost all of the stuff that the CF used for weapons testing in the last 30 years, is either at Diemaco or at CFSEME in Borden.

I've been to both places and have never seen anything of the such. Even been to the War Museum's collection(Vimy House) - nothing there either.

I even still have the business card of the CF sales rep at the time of the C3A1 contract - they are long since out of business. This is where I picked up my bipods, way back in 1994!

C3A1 - Drag Bag

Here she is - the un-official - official drag bag made by Tac-ops. This was a special order item, exclusively produced for the C3A1.

Good luck on trying to find one of these. I got this one through a wholesaler for surplus. They were in a tri-wall that came out of Valcartier, so mine was used by the Vandoos.

Still had an eye cup off of a set of Elcan Bino's, inside from a sniper who was last using it.

I dug through the whole box and this was the only serviceable one. The rest were so screwed up, they weren't even worth selling.

Fantastic pictures. And now the search continues for the cleaning kit and drag bag.
These pictures are great for those of us looking for parts, not knowing exactly what we are looking for.
In your paperwork does the exploded parts manual give a name for the parts along with a number.
regards Tim

Handstop:

Carl,

Don't know if Parker Hale/J.Rothery cut back or something, but my handstop didn't come with the swivel on it (I got it last summer). I'm having some Quick-Detach swivels come in (the style with those small metallic spheres that retract to release it from the plug) - will this work with the handstop?

Thanks
