Parker hale m82-m87-C3-C3A1 Rifles

Thought I would add, my clone is now at the smiths to have the barrel installed. I am thinking of making a build thread but thought I would mention it here first. I am having a blank barrel re-profiled, this will be a shooter rifle so figured this was the best way. I found my spacer mount bracket and a ZF69 scope. Only thing I am missing is the rings, I have found a few, most I have found have been modified though usually with a grinder to work with non-Parker Hale bases. So still on the hunt there.

Other then that... I am chomping at the bit to get this done, just wish I had the tools to do the barrel work myself.

I think we should add some pics to this thread. Kind of line the over under shotgun thread.

If you have a c3 or c3a1 rifle, or clone... Please put some pics up. That way we can all drool

More importantly, we can see many of the details that are being described.

Thoughts?

Here is my rifle... I also have the iron sights and a sling... but didn't put them on for pics!

I have 3 questions

1) is the proper bolt handle cut with the flat part on the top or bottom?
2) did the serial numbers have a letter prefix or were they just numerical digits?
3) were the C3's blued, parkerized, or painted?

I'll add my pics once its all back. Its hard to find pics on here many of the posters add them then within the week there gone. Its been hard to compare that way.

ebruder- looking good, if you look very early on in this thread it is mentioned that they were coated... suncoat I think it was, I will have to search through again

Holy smoke. For that price I should contact them to see what they would pay for the original C3 McMillan stock to complete the rifle! I am a big Mauser 98 fan and the upgrade to a McMillan stock and detachable mag system made for a very tough and reliable rifle.

I see someone bought it, but that's a lot of money for a correct serial numbered receiver...

Some excellent information in this thread!!

I just picked up a mint 1200TX, been looking for a suitable M82 project donor rifle for a good few years now and I finally have one.

Would love to see some updated photos of any of your builds.

I can not answer questions on value but if anyone is interested and has questions on current layouts and configuration of the C3A1 I can probably answer some questions. I have put alot of rounds through these and love them very much, wish I had the money to build my own.

for starters the C3 stock is walnut and the C3A1 is a McMillan fiberglass stock both use proprietary butt plates and stock spacers not inter changeable .
the last time I priced a stock was back in 2008 from McMillan about 700.00

Someday I'll be able to afford the proper mount and scope but here's the one I just picked up.
