Many years ago as a young lad I purchased this rifle new. Collecting was not on my mind back then and thus I hunted with it for about 3 years. It has no more than about a box of shells through it. It has now not been fired for many years. Anyhow, I was going through one of the safes today and I was looking at the rifle. It has no model marked on it and so I never really paid any attention as to what it is. But now I am curious. Is it a safari supreme model? As can be seen, it is a 100 year Canadian Centennial gun.

Not a collector or a Parker Hale expert by any means, but that looks like a Model 1200 to me.

It's a Parker Hale all right. I purchased a new Parker Hale in 1972 and it looked very similar to yours. Mine was based on the Lee Enfield action with a new Parker Hale stock & barrel. This company bought tons of surplus guns and parts after WW2 and used a lot of these parts in their new guns.

Yours with the 100th year and engraving is really nice.

Looks like a PH 1200 Safari but + the 100th years and the engraving.

If you want to sell this rifle. drop me a pm :p

I thought that Safaris were engraved with that word on the opposite side of the receiver, along the bolt. Does it have a detachable magazine? It's nice looking PH - I use a 1200C 7mm MAG for hunting.

Trigger guard and floorplate are also engraved, right? If so, it's 1200 Presentation Super Centennial Edition.
Very nice gun.

Congratulations on that catch. Hard to sell at the right price but to someone into collecting PH it could worth a good bunch over a standard model.

Nice rifle bud! I was always under the impression you had nothing but shotguns and 22's!
Didn't Parker Hale market the Safari utilizing surplus military receivers?

Only the early models were "Safari" the late ones were only "Super" and "Super Magnum". Only the early Safari were made on ex-military receivers.
The "Super" were made on new "commercial" Las Corunas (Santa Barbara) receivers.
