You right on the sizes therefore you can not mix and match. If you'r e looking for 1" rings and have 26mm rings, I would be willing to trade you, as I'm looking for a set of 26mm's
 
So 26mm is not close enough for 1" scope? I have a set of PH RALS3 on my BSA Majestic but I need a second set to fit a parker hale base on a 303 sporter I have.I tried the RALS3 on the PH base and the fit was good. Are you saying a set of RALS4's won't work on this base or are you meaning the 26mm scope size is too big for 1". 1" is 25.4mm so I cant see why 26mm would not be close enough.Tell me if I am wrong because I know where there are about 10 pairs of RALS4's
 
SORRY!!!!! 26mm rings won't hold the 1" scope tube...it won't snug up and you will have a disappointing experience. Will fit the dovetail OK. The 26mm were made for the European market.
