Parker Hale Safari Ammo!

Just inherited this from my father, What ammo do I use, I am just getitng into hunting and need some help. I hear this ammo is expensive and rare.

Parker Hale Safari 308 NM.

I was thinking about getting that cal but ammo is'nt easy to come by here and as for price i'm not too sure. You might wanna think about getting into reloading if your gonna keep her or just sell her to me

It is a 308 Norma Magnum. The last time I bought factory ammo for mine, I think it was about $70 for 20, so it is for sure a good candidate for hand loading. It is a great cartridge, believed by some to be better than the 300 Win Mag.

Norma makes factory ammo for it. Brass is available for reloading. Very good all around caliber, in a nice gun. - dan

Reload for it and it's as cheap as any other magnum.Full length resize new or once fired .300 Win mag brass and trim to length. I shoot a Browning FN .308 NM........just lube to the shoulder of where the NM would be on the .300 win mag case and lube the inside of the necks or you will get oil dents.A hell of a lot cheaper than Norma brass.........Harold

Parker Hale 308 Norma Mags are not particularly rare either.
But it is a fine chambering, and you should just set up to reload for it.
As Harold said, building brass from 300 Win Mag is a snap, and much less expensive than the Norma offerings. Eagleye.

I just use 7Rem Mag brass for my 2 norma magnums. They neck up nicely, but leave the neck a bit shorter than spec. The short neck doesn't seem to affect my loads at all, though.
