I have a number of Parker Hale bases for which I can not find any reference regarding their application. They are numbered "4440C", "4440P" and "4440V". I have the listing of Parker Hale base's that came on the back card of a BA 22 / BA 28 set, but these "4440" ones are not listed. Any "long memory" folks out there might recall what these were for?

Sorry, only guessing but Parker Hale used a lot of "Santa Barbera" actions that were very similar to Mauser Actions. Again, just a guess but the front/rear bases were different thicknesses. Great rifles in my opinion.

The front base made by PH is #A 22 and the rear is A 28. I have a set, and the PH was a Mauser action Model 98 Santa Barbra as mentioned by big boar. These were made to fit the M1200 and M1100.

Agreed, but they made a lot more than just for the Mausers. I have A 3, A 11, A 15, A 18, A 19, A 20, A 21, A 22, A 23, A 25, A 29, A 39 and A 40. About half of them are not listed on the reference card that I have that came with a BA 22/28 set. Thought I would start by trying to figure out the 4440 series, which might have been a factory part number used on PH bases that they installed on some of their rifles.
