I'm asking this question for a friend,He has a Parker Hale 303 and he said there is no place on the top of the rifle for a scope mount and he was wondering if this was the type of rifle that required a side mount? Did Parker Hale make such a rifle?? I have not seen the gun so I know very little about it. Thanks!!:) :)

I have seen a Parker Hale side mount for a No 1 Mk III. That beingf said, Parker Hale did not manufacture any 303's to the best of my knowledge, but they did sporterize a number of them. This one I speak of in particular had a PH side mount on it....

I have a PH in shop now that has no bridge over the receiver, I am not sure if the company cuts them off or it was done by someone else. Anyway, I built a new bridge to attach my custom base to.

PH made side mounts for the Lee Enfields #1, and #4 rifles. You would need to identify the model of the rifle in question to be certain though.

I have a PH sportsterized SMLE .303 and it has a PH top scope mount rail. The receiver is drilled & tapped and the rail is held on with (4) #6 CS screws. Rings detach from the rail with a quarter. A truncated cone on the bottom of the ring that fits into a matching recess on the rail insures return to zero is, although not absolute, within 1 to 1 1/2 moa. I have no idea where you would get one as it was mounted on mine when I bought it used 30 years ago.
