Didnt want to hijack the other thread so I made this one.

I just came into possession of a crate from an older gent with a bunch of old firearms and bits, sadly is was an estate deal so I couldn't ask him.

In there was all these sights, wondering what they are worth. also what some of this other stuff is.

Wow, they are ALL pretty collectible, the 9G is very similar to the sight I found. The large lenses are polarizers, and they fit into the large iris, which screws into the sight. The "tunnel" like thing is a front sight, which looks like it would fit in either a No1MkIII or No4 front sight dovetail, and the inserts that go into the front sight to allow you to change the sight picture as conditions require. In order of commonality I'd say 5C, 5A, PH4, and 9G with the front sight stuff being very uncommon in useable condition. The PH4 fits on the standard Mk1 rear sight of the No4 rifle, the 9G was initially designed for the Lee-Metford. The sights run from $250 up depending on how hooked the junkie you're selling them to is :D

A PH4 replaces the rear sight on a No. 4. I believe it preceded the PH5C.
The PH5A was used primarily on the SMLE.
The 9 would have been used primarily on MLEs - long Lee Enfields.
If these are now selling $250 up, maybe I should dig out my spares, and put them on the market.

Actualy the PH4 is for the No8 .22 rifle. Of course it will also work on a No4 but you are limited to 800 yds.

In any case you have LOTS of money in that collection. the only fly in the ointment is that I can see no mounting screws, but that can be taken care of. the two top sights will need an extra long rear trigger guard screw and the middle bottom one for the No4 will require a longer ejector screw.

LOL in my case 800 yards is a fantasy, not a limitation :D OP here's a link to a UK dealer who stocks and sells a wide range of Parker and PH sights - these prices are higher than you see here in Canada, but they give some idea of maximum retail prices. The market for these sights is international.

Actually the PH5D was the model made for the No.8 Mk1 22RF trainer. If I remember correctly the PH4 was intended as a low cost alternative to the PH5C. Their accuracy is very depend on how tightly the axis pin fits both the sight and receiver of the rifle to which it’s fitted. Still it’s very desirable as it’s one of the few sights that can be easily fitted to the new AIA M10’s as long as the scope rail isn’t used or at the least it’s shortened up a bit.

Had a bag of 6 PH Target sights offered to me for $150, back in 1994. Said no thanks. Another deal wasted!
However I did buy a PH9c for 70 bucks 2 years back. And a PH5c with spare multi hole apperature for a #4 for 150 bucks.
PH4 should get you $100+.
Other PH Target Rear sights will get you $150+ and spare optionial parts like coloured lens, eyepieces, front rings will get you5-20 bucks ea.
I was on 5 Bisley shooting teams, so I have gone through a few target sights myself.
Good luck.

If you're looking for an excellent source of newly-made screws for Parker Hale and BSA sights, I can vouch for the work of Scott Stonehill who can be reached at sstonehill@knology.net and here's a link to what he has in stock on his website: http://www.customscrewsandmore.com/
