I bought myself a Parker Hale 7mm Mag, hinge plate. Got it from my uncle, great gun but he's just a little biddy guy, so he cut the stock down, and I'm... Well an average sized longhaired country boy. So everytime I pull the trigger the scope drifts me right in the eye socket like this guy :pirate: poor bastard, but he's still smile'n! Just like me.

Now that's not MY rifle, but that's exactly what I've got to work with.

Any help I receive I will be very grateful for, almost eternally grateful infact.

Personally for a quick fix I would add an extension, if I wanted to get fancy one a little darker - to match the forend / grip tip, done right it wouldn't look too bad. Being a Mauser Tradeex has some stocks that could be suitable from time to time / go synthetic / post a WTB on EE. and so on. --- John303.

Put a 1" pad on it then a slip pad over that.
Should get you enough length until something else shows up.
Slip pads are under rated IMO.
You'll gain an easy inch just with the slip.

He is right the slip on pad is how I shoot the wifes rifle, the trickiest part is to get it out of the house without her noticing LOL

What kind of scope does it have?

If the eye relief is too small, that is probably the cause of the problem. If you get hit everytime, that doesn't sound like it's just because of stock length. I sight in hundreds of guns a year, belonging to all sizes of people with all sorts of stock lenghts and I rarely ever eat the scope because of that. Usually it's because of a crappy scope with short eye relief.

Also, scope might be set too far back, put up a picture of your rifle so we can see if that is the problem.

Western Gunparts have P-H 1200 repro stocks. Not the best deal you can do, but the shape is almost right and the wood is not too bad either.
If original style does not matter for you, then, as said before any M/98 stock will fit.

There is one of these stocks for sale on the EE right now.
I believe it is absolutely original, and off a magnum.
Griz375 has it for sale.

I've gotten a few PMs for different stock manufacturers, and I'm thinking I'll give western gun parts a shot. The problem certainly doesn't lie with my method of shooting, eye relief of scope or improper set up. I like the economical idea of a slip cover or just a glue on, but... Then it's just a slip cover or a glue on. I really adore this rifle, and want to do it justice. Unfortunately I didn't get back quick enough to find the stock on the EE. Darn shame. Thanks for all the replies.
