I am trying to remove Barrel from stock on a 30-06 parker-hale, can't seem to get trigger guard off. Also is there synthetic stocks available for PH's. My girl friends son broke the stock yesterday I think beyond repair.

Detachable magazine model?
Tap out the magazine catch retaining pin. Remove the mag. catch and its spring. Use an Allen wrench to remove the front trigger guard retaining screw. Don't lose the collar that this screw pases through.
Your PH is basically a modified '98 Mauser. A sporting stock for a '98 can be fitted. It won't be a drop in. There will be inletting required for the trigger group, safety, etc, but it can be done.

It is surprising how broken a stock can be and still be repaired if no one has tried to fix it and screwed that up... show some good pictures of the breakage...

Thanks for the info, no I have not tried to repair it. It is completely broken off behind the bolt, I will post a picture.
