Parkerized Norinco 1911A1?

Jeff,
I "asked" the same question to Gunnar @ Armco and he told me the new blue ones are much nicer.
After he informed me what was involved with the Armco Tuning of his Norinco 1911A1's, I bought one!
Should fit my bill as a shooter....

Has anyone actually handled one of these? I'm referring to the first gun listed here on MARSTAR's site...

I haven't seen one myself...although I think it would great for a "rough service" gun. :)

Jeff.

Hard to tell from the pics but the limited run from Marstar seemed to be parked ala the WWII USGI type 1911A1's of yesteryear. They sold out quick though.

Both -Terry- and Riflechair on here had/have Norc 1911A1's that have been GI'd.... that is the markings except serial number removed, refinished to a matte park, and GI grips added. Both look spectacular. I love that retro look, myself.

One way to go, if the new parked ones at Marstar are sold out, would be to pick up a Norc 1911A1 off the EE, then have the work done to get it to the GI look.

And yeah, the new series Norc 1911A1's [not the "enhanced" models] with the nice blued finish are very nice.

NAA.

I parked a NP29, looks much better than it did with the original blue. Glad to hear that the blued finish has been improved.

I've got an older commander that came parkerized, and it's not to bad...

The thing with Norinco's is they usually need a bit of de-horning of sharp edges so the finish isn't that important to me as I've taken a stone and emery cloth to all of them, and even removed the roll marks on one.

I still have not tried a home parkerizing job but I think that is the best way to go after you customize the gun for a better fit, feel.

Yeah but you can buy a lot more guns that we can't ;)

And often, way cheaper too:mad:

Availablity of new import Chinese and Russian made firearms, new or surplus, are probably the only advantage of Canadian shooters over the Yanks. At very affordable prices to boot.

Even Canadian made Savage rifles are more expensive here than down south.
