Hi. I have a parkerized rifle and would like to darken it a bit. When i apply gun oil to all surfaces everything looks great and darkens it. But after a day it seems like the oil evaporates so i have to reapply. Can anyone recomment a better oil to use which will stay inpregnated .
Thanks

If your gun is parkerized and teflon coated, you have no need to oil it. That is the idea behind parkerized and teflon coated guns. If you do not like the finish or the colour of the finish, go have it blued. You will find blue is not as good of a finish compared to park.

Ok, lets say the teflon gets compromised , scratched(easy to do) etc ;) I guess careful inspection would do the trick  I would oil, be safer than finding surface rust.
