Parkerizing & Smithtac

I have, and it's really nice and even.

As for thickness, I can't say, but it's durable.

I've seen a beautiful grey, but mostly a grey/black finish.

Here are a few pics of the Parkerize job done there:

Jeff did a great job and I was 110+% satisified. I have seen a few rilfes done there as well and they have all come out excellent. :)

Parkerizing isn't green. It's shades of grey. The exact shade depends on the steel it goes on. The green is the result of long term storage in cosmoline. Mind you, modern chemistry allows for greenish-grey parkerizing. Change the chemicals slightly and you get black. Most modern military firearms are black phosphated. Same process, just different chemicals.
The thickness is usually a few thou. Not enough to hinder the functioning of the firearm. Parkerizing's purpose is to protect the steel by holding oil. Long term, repeated, oiling will darken grey parkerizing to almost black too.

Thanks, it looks good now. The metal was real rough and was more brownish than blue. Someone else had refinished the wood and done a pretty good job before I bought it from Epps. I like it because its the SC (sporting carbine) version and is old enough not to be drilled and tapped for a scope.
