parkerizing soloution, where to buy

I'm interested in this as well. What sort of equipment is required?

Flipping through the Brownell's catalog they make it look like you need a thousand bucks worth of equipment to parkerize.

Noticed that radocy uses zinc phosphate, any mangenese phoshate parkerizing available in Canada?

Pistol parts can be done in an enamelled pot. According to PJ, the Radocy solution can be used on long gun parts by heating it and then pouring it into a section of PVC pipe.

I am looking for the mangenese phoshate parkerizing solution, too. PJ doesn't have it. Black Cat used to have it, but they are now sold out. Does anybody know which other company has it?

It is said that the Shooter's Solution parkerizing solution is one of the best, but they are in the States, and they do not ship to Canada.

That's a cheap and simple solution for parking barrels. You could preheat the barrel too to help keep the solution temp up. Has anyone tried the pvc method?

What other inexpensive ideas are there for doing long guns?

I have been parkerizing / refinishing for many years. If you freeze the parkerizing solution , it will NOT hurt it. I am from Northern WI and have had it freeze several times. It will not hurt it ! If you guys can buy Parkerizing soultion from the US , try the "Shooters Soloution Maganese " ! Super dark and twice the Mil. Spec for thickness . It is twice the price of Brownells but is worth it ! I started parkerizing with stainless steel resturant 1/2 pans and a coleman LP outdoor stove . All the work is in the prep !

How do you prep the material besides de-greasing? Does any bluing have to be stripped? Or can you get away with a quick sanding/blasting? I don't have a compressor so I'd be doing all prep work by hand.
