Parkerizing the SKS

So are you guys saying just spray the bore / barrel with windex and oil it?

What about the gas tube and piston etc?

Do I have to windex / hot water those as well?

Just got my first Russian SKS recently and have yet to shot it so any tips will be very much appreciated!

After doing both it is my opinion the boiling water method is superior. You are trying to dissolve the salts and flush them out. A torrent of boiling water will do that better than a weak stream of room temp windex.

Although I have experienced flash rusting with the boiling water method.

You will have to do both the piston and the gas tube for sure.

I don't oil my bores after though. Never really saw the need. Maybe I should start.

Well I thought i was good on this topic but now I have a question...

Is it just the Barrel and gas tube/piston...what about the trigger group, bolt, etc, etc.

If I don't have time to clean I give the barrel a real good shot of CLP to reject corrosion. With all that oil down the barrel theres no way it can rust. I clean it later when I have time.
