I parked my Nork 1911 about 5 years ago and the finish has held up quite well with only some holster wear at the muzzle end.

Is there a difference between parkerizing and bluing? If so can you explain to me. Thx.

Yes, as I understand it.
Bluing is a rust process that imparts a blue of black colour to the metal but offers little or no protection against rust or abrasion
Pakerizing applies a phosphate coating which imparts a black or grey colour to the metal and offer a good measure of protection against rust and abrasion.

In my opinion you blue for a show piece and park for a work piece.

That is my simple understanding and I am sure someone will elaborate.
