Part 1 - new SKS stock design

I've got a Yugo SKS that I want to jazz up a bit so I figure I'll make a new stock (or three) for it. I will make a few versions and trick them out a bit as I go. Right now I'm at the design stage and will start cutting soon.

Little background - I'm a furniture and millwork designer, Red Seal joiner and a spray finisher. We have a CNC machine at work so I thought I'd fart around with CAD and draft up some pistol grip stock designs.

First I drafted the SKS to scale so the geometries could be duplicated. I printed out the drawings and traced the pistol grip from my XD 40. (Simply line up the trigger guards and barrels.)

Anyways here are the designs I'm working with. Nothing earth shattering...

I dont think an sks can look any better or "different" without getting uglier.

Hmm, the sks is it a 59/66? if so I would imagine it has a pretty beefy stock already(grenade launching). I heard they are made of good quality beech.
