PART needed: Husqvarna 1640 safety lock spring

Hello everyone, I am looking for a replacement part for my '54 Husqvarna 1640. I have a broken safety lock spring; a small piece of spring steel that applies tension on the sliding safety. Is there a source for this part, or am left with rigging something up? Thanks for any and all help and advice!

I did check the Tradex website and saw a notification that they don't ship to the USA. I am in central Texas, so I guess it rules them out. Could the part be shipped to a Canadian address and then legally shipped to Texas? Is Western Gun Parts a Canadian company as well?

Wow...an American finally getting a taste of what we go through every day when we try to buy parts and accessories in the US. I feel bad for you, OP, but the irony makes me laugh!
 
Are there any issues with buying and importing gun parts into the U.S. That are for a sporting gun? Doesn't 922r only apply to non sporting guns?
 
I would see if trade ex at least carries the part. And find out why they don't ship to the U.S. Is it policy or is it illegal.
 
Well alright! Tradex came through. I just finished ordering two springs from Anthony, over the phone during my lunch break. I am very relieved to have found these, and quite grateful to Anthony for making an exception and shipping these parts to Texas. Thanks for all your help; you guys have a great forum here. I plan to stick around if you don't mind!
