Does anyone know how to replace the trigger guard on the trigger group and the chamber brush on the cleaning tool for an M1D Garand?

ya the stud that holds it in place securely is worn. I have a replacement one, but don't know if I can strip the trigger group. Any idea how?
Any ideas on the brush replacing and scope cover replacing too?
Google "detail stripping m1 Garand" and it will lead you to the CMP instructions for stripping the trigger group and rear sight assembly. To remove the chamber brush from the combo tool just drift out the pin which secures it in place.
The trigger group will need to be completely stripped (except for the clip ejector spring)to replace the trigger guard as it is the last part out of the trigger housing and the first one in. Same with stripping the rear sight assembly to replace the cover.
When re-assembling the rear sight make sure to apply grease to the fol places
n the rib inside the cover, on the front part of the bottom of the base, in the tracks of the base where the aperture fits, on the points where the elevation knob and windage knob rotate in the base, on the teeth of the elevation knob where it engages the aperture, and on the surfaces of the receiver "ears' where the inner faces of the elevation and windage knobs bear.
