Yet another "Load for my M14/305" question...but I hope better.

Its accepted that the Norcs have a long headspace, thus reducing case life when FL sized. But would there be a way to FL size your cases without bumping back the shoulder each time?

I guess the better way to put it would be: how do I make sure I am seating the die far enough to fully size the case, but not so deep that it pushes the shoulder back?

If you cant "smoke" the case like myself, use a black marker and let dry for 20sec or so before lubing the case.
Id bump the shoulder back just a little in an auto, pump and lever gun to get good feeding.

The M14 is pretty hard on brass anyways; I kind of think you won't be getting so many reloads out of your brass that FL sizing is really going to matter. Lots of articles I've read suggest five reloads at most for the M14 regardless, in which case you can just go ahead and FL resize anyways. I actually use Small Base dies and resize my 308 brass right down to the minimum, and I get five reloads per brass, then I turf them. By fully resizing like I do, I can also use all my reloads in any 308, and don't have do use certain batches of reloads for certain rifles. I feed five 308's that my father and I own (M14 x 2, Rem 742, Rem 600 x 2) the exact same reloads and they work fine in all the rifles.
