I have Barnes 180 gr TTSX’s on the way to try. I know the 165’s are generally preferred for higher velocity, but as this is to be my Bison hunting rifle, and .30 cal 180’s are the minimum. I am looking forward to giving them a shot.

I don’t have Remington loads on hand to test, but none of my loads exceeded SAMMI overall length, in fact some were way under and all showed similar deformation. I am pretty sure Rem loads would too.
I may buy Rem factory rounds just to see and send Remington pictures, but I don’t expect them to really care. I’m sure the few guys who own this rifle in .300 WM probably would be happy to shoot it at under an inch and a half, fed from the mag. It’s really only an issue if enough of their customers care.
