Hey

I ordered a Krieger heavy barrel for my Norc M14 and heard on this forum that the Norc gas cylinder lock and the castle nut will not work on the Krieger barrel because the threads are different, can someone please confirm this. Also can anyone tell me if there is anything else I should be aware of. Your info would be great help.

does the krieger come with an oprod guide? I have seen in some pics that certain heavy contour barrels require a different oprod guide... the threads on the krieger barrel are NOT the same as the norc barrel. You will need to order G.I. spec gas lock and castlenut..... brownells has em , they have the gas lock front sight as well, which is a popular option

That is correct. The Norc parts have metric threads while the Krieger barrel uses imperial thread sizes like the USGI barrel. Not a biggie, you just have to find a USGI castle nut and cylinder lock.
