This is probably the best thread to get informed advice. About 1 month ago, I ordered some parts for a Remington 1100. One order was from Brownells which was about $8USD and the other from Numrich for about $20USD. Both were shipped via USPS the next day and arrived in Toronto customs on Mar 19, which is where they still are. I regularly order items from the USA without any problem although this is the first time it has been gun parts. Is this an issue?

What paper work do the sellers or USPS need to do to get these thru customs. A quick check on USPS advises there is nothing that can be done. You just have to wait for CBSA to do their thing.

Advice needed.

I've ordered from the USA and Europe and the delay is always at CBSA. Telephone or Email CBSA and inquire. I've had items on hold at CBSA up to 2 months. Best of luck!

I ordered some small stuff from Brownell's back on Feb 11. Still sitting in Customs. I was told by a political assistant that there has been unwritten instructions to CBSA to delay / obstruct gun parts orders from the USA. This same person told me that some folks have been waiting a year for their order!
The liberal government should be sued for its policy of obstructing free trade concerning perfectly legal firearm parts coming into this country. I can't sue because my pockets aren't deep enough!

I also have an order from Brownells that has been sitting at CBSA since March 19, and I hope that I don't have to wait too much longer.

I wondered if that was the case as they love to do stuff that hurts licensed firearms owners rather than going after the criminal.

Ordered a few small taps from Brownells and they were held for a month. Not even firearm related (at least for my use), but it came from a firearm parts/tool supplier, so might as well delay it.

Thanks for all the words of "encouragement". I suspected CBSA held shipments from suppliers of gun parts just because they could. Stopped at my MP's office last week to see what help could be provided but arrived 5 minutes past closing so did not get a chance to talk to anyone. Its not exactly next door so might be a while till I get back to try again. I can't believe we are that dumb as a nation to keep voting in the Liberals!!!!

On a somewhat related item, Parks Canada has rented our range for the past 20 or so years for firearms training/qualification. By this time of the year, they normally would have likely had 8 or 10 days of range usage. Nothing to date which kind of makes me suspect that the PW and RCO's groups in Parks Canada are going to lose their firearms to demonstrate to gun owners that our gov't is serious about removing guns from all except a select few. Maybe I am just paranoid.

Last summer I ordered a spring and it sat at the border for over 3 months. Called in and the lady told me there was nothing she could do to speed it up but it was shipped out ~4 business days later.

Firing pin retaining pin shipped from Warsaw and went right through the border with almost no delay.

Currently about 3 weeks into a scope mount from henry…. Wish me luck.

Call the border enforcement scum bags (at the mail sorting facility) every day until they take your package out of their long term storage. Have your tracking number handy.
It does actually get you priority after a while.

Well, well, well, so after waiting since Apr 3rd and having the "package" cleared about 6 days ago, and no tracking update or movement, I decided to put in a ticket. Well "lo and behold", the tracking updated this morning and the package appears to be in the city, maybe getting delivered today. Maybe we should all put a "ticket" in and see what happens? Good luck

Maybe you could explain, with a bit more detail than the other post, how you did this miraculous deed? I'm sure many here would appreciate it.

I simply "clicked" on the virtual assistant & typed "open a ticket", any muggle could do it?

Maybe?? the contusion is that , it's the "chat with us" feature that you open, which triggers the virtual assistant.

I ordered a a few things from Brownelles in January. Parcel hit Customs on January 26th.

I called mid February, I was told there was a back-log and that it would be 6 weeks.

I called early April, still a backlog, no idea when they would get to my parcel. I opened a service ticket. apparently they "were" telling people 6 weeks. This was not accurate, it will be longer than that and CBSA is not able to offer an estimate due to current staffing levels. Apparently CBSA is looking at all packages that are firearm or airsoft related... or at least that's the stated reason for the extremely long wait on my parcel and they need to examine and verify the parts were legal to import into Canada. This when I filed a complaint.

I waited another 2 weeks and I finally resorted to calling my MP as the complaint I filed with CBSA had not been responded to yet. I was put in touch with a supervisor at CBSA and told that if I was able to get conformation from International Affairs that an import license was not required for the firearm parts they would clear the parts through customs. I was also give the contact details for a supervisor at International affairs.

I forwarded a copy of the email with the parts list from Brownelles, got a response from International Affairs, confirming the parts did not require a permit to import. I then forwarded that email onto the supervisor at CBSA.

I have not received the parcel yet, but the tracking info says its going to be delivered Monday.

Ordered a sun shade for my SRO from Range Panda about 2 weeks ago. It finally got to customs in Toronto yesterday and 10 minutes or so after I got that message I got another saying it was being held in customs. It's a f'ing cover for my SRO made of plastic - wtf??? They really are just messing with anything coming through customs that has any inkling at being related to a firearm.
