Parts that wear out on an SKS

Man i love CGN. You guys know your sh1t!

Beermaker- How many rounds did it take for the disconnector to kick the bucket?

Well from when I bought it from Le Barons I would say 2000 rds. Now what kind of shape it was in before that? Who knows. I just noticed one day during the Milsurp shoot at EOHC that the first stage was crap. In between shots I had to keep the trigger every slightly depressed to allow the follow up shots to be smooth. Once I got home and cleaned it up I noticed the trigger bar was riding high. The disconnector pushes the trigger bar down and away from the sear when the bolt is cycled back to reset the sear. When the bolt is locked down it pushes the bar down to align it with the sear. If the bar is too high it contacts the area above the sear. Picked one up from Marstar which did the trick.

All I did was weld a little blob onto the top of the disconnector, then filed it back down to perfection.
Just have to make sure the back of the bolt drops down in front of the trunnion before the disconnector lets the sear move.
