I challenged my restricted today and recieved the pass to send to the fed's. So while I'm waiting for the paperwork to come, I need help choosing a pistol. i want a .22lr. I'm not really choosy about brand but should be under $500. I want something like a 1911 colt style or kimber style. Something loosely along those styles. I don't like the ruger's or brownings because of their looks even though I know they are a excellent pistol.

Thanks

A used Norc 1911 + .22LR conversion? You might wait a long time before finding a used .22LR conversion though. I'd suggest picking up a Ruger 22/45 (same grip and controls as a 1911) and then take your time shopping around for a centerfire pistol, but if you really hate the Ruger's.....

If you really hate the Rugers, maybe the Buckmarks are more appealing? Personally like my 22/45 except for the take down to clean portion.

yes i should try and find a club to join. The norc conversion idea is a good one. i should look into what that costs for all new

A 1911 22lr conversion will most likely bust the $500 budget... then you'll need a frame to put it on...

For $500, I'd have a second look at either the Browning Buckmark, Ruger MK2 or MCM Margolin... and if you don't mind a used pistol, you could probably fit your club membership in that amount.

Actually, if you don't mind a used pistol, Tradeex (a site sponsor) as some decent deal on used 22lr... with a little armacoat, these Berretta 76 would look pretty good!

Ya i like those berretta's! I doesn't bother me that their a little ugly, I just want to learn on it anyhow. Looking through his site through gives me this feeling that its going to be multiple purchase. Thanks!
