Here's a nice 4X4 WT that fell to the 25/45 sharps. I was going for a mid-day sit in my tree stand, climbed up making the usual rattling of the ladder. I hardly got sitting down and this buck was walking down the trail
in my foot steps. I'm thinking the rattling of the ladder must have brought him in. Anyway, one shot at about 20 yards and he was down like an anvil hit him in the head.
The bullet was a 100gr winchester silver tip. The old ones with the silver tin cap. went through and ended up in that oak tree by his head.

Here is the entrance. It has been opened up with a knife but it was still a large wound.

Here is the exit, about the size of a quarter. The wound channel was massive.

Nice! If you don't mind me asking, how hard was it to find a rifle (or a barrel) in 25-45 Sharps? Do you reloading, and if so, how hard was it to find reloading dies?

Took a bit to get a barrel out of the US, RCBS makes the dies. This is a reloader round only. To bad, it's a nice round. Brass is easily made from 223. just neck it up to 25cal.

It's super cool to see this. I have a 6x45mm - fun round but one is limited by the length of the magazine (on an AR-style platform). Best I can get is a 90gr projectile - any bigger and it looks like the round is seated too deep.
