So I arrived home tonight from a friends place and heard a coyote barking out behind the house. I ran inside, grabbed the .260AI and climbed onto the shipping container behind the house, I couldn't see him right away because of the high grass but found him moving into a dried up area beside a slough(thats a swamp for you eastern folks). I pulled out the range finder, ranged him at 505 meters, dialed up 2.1 mil on the USO and let her buck. He dropped in his tracks. I retrieved him about 2 hours later as I had to go into the house to eat dinner and see the kids.

I love that pause between boooooom and smack!

Here are a couple pics:

"Fricken midget coyotes"! Harder to hit then Regular coyotes........

What bullet?

140gr Berger VLD hunting.

I've shot a few deer and coyotes with them so far with between the .260AI and 7 WSM. I'm happy with the performance both ballistics and game. I haven't found that they damage the meat any more than any other bullet, but the farther I shoot the more damage there seems to be, maybe thats the point where the bullet slows down enough to make a baseball sized exit wound.

0 MI GAWD UR A MURDERER U KILLED A POOR DEFENSELESS PUPPY!

Just kidding! Good shot, another mutt down. Is it just me or are there more of the buggers around lately?

Congratulations. Hell of a shot. My friend and I took a few out of my deer hunting property with the shotguns this year. I was hooked from the first set.

I don't mean to sound like and a**hole or some world-class shootrer(far from it) but thats not a super long shot for me. I've been doing a lot of long range shooting with that rifle and my 7WSM(others as well) over the past few years and in particular this spring. The majority of my shooting has been 500-900 meters.

It's easy to practice when you can make reloads in your basement and walk 100 yards out your front door to test them at whatever distance you want(ok...now I really sound like an a**hole). I know I am spoiled but I do appreciate being able to shoot whenever I want, that is when I'm not at work, watching the kids, working on the house.....

Thanks for the comments and kind works, I just posted the pics because most of us haven't seen blood since hunting season.
