Patiently waiting for package in the mail

What range are you planning on breaking it in on? I just got my Ruger No1A in .257 Roberts yesterday. If I had cash I would have picked up the one you got (assuming its Ricks off of the EE). Instead I got one from Clay, just put it on my CC.

Beautiful rifles, great wood for a production gun.

It is from Rick on EE and yes it is a beautiful piece of wood.

It arrived Friday morning around 11:00, threw an old Burris Compact 6X scope on her, found 2 boxes of Winchester 117 gr +P Power points at Canadian Tire and ran off to Franford to sight it in.
She shot 4 shots all touching in a horizontal string and I pulled the 5th about a 1/2" higher than the rest.
I'm very happy with how she shot.
Got some dies, brass and bullets on the way and I'll start handloading soon but for now the factory loads will get me through the first deer season.

I only sighted her in at 100 yards as where I hunt a long shot is 60 yards.

Thanks again Rick, Christmas came early for me.

Congratulations on the rifle. I just loaded some 257 for the first time a few nights back. I'm hoping to go out for some coyotes this year.

What powders have you found to be decent with the 257?
This caliber is all new to me.
