It was made by Sanderson in November 1918 and is marked to the Union of South Africa. It also appears to have a unit marking as well. The scabbard appears to be WW2 in origin and the bayonet also looks to be polished and blued. The blade has also been re-sharpened a while ago and it is very sharp to the touch. The grips show extensive wear.

As I have a 1916 dated blade that is in the WW1 trim I am wondering what the value of this bayonet would be as I am looking to sell to help fund college this September.

Thank you for your thoughts.

I agree with those numbers. The fact that it has the scabbard in decent condition (even wwII era) is a plus. Beat up and sharpened south african... $85-100 depending on the buyer.

Hey, it's a ALMOST a text book;)

Thank you for your thoughts, guys, I really appreciate the input.

I will put the blade up for sale on the Bayonets EE in case anyone is interested.
