Hey all.

Ive been tinkering with guns since.... well... I can remember
I would love to learn more and become "certified" to work on others guns

I checked out PCDI online courses... is this a good idea?

I very much doubt that any course from a matchbook u is going to get anyone ready to work on other people's guns.
I suppose it could be a start.
There's nothing in these courses that isn't available elsewhere.

Tiriaq is absolutely correct. I completed the PCDI course in late December.

Get yourself two books. Practical Gunsmithing and Pistols and Revolvers by Patrick Sweeney. Read each book 3 times, cover to cover and you have more knowledge than taking the PCDI course (and you are $800 better off). The course is about $850 but you will recieve a set of Gunsmiths Screwdrivers and 2 steel punches along with a Brownells Catalogue and a copy of the aforementioned Pistols & Revolvers by Patrick Sweeney

What you won't have of course is a Qualification.

Try AGI (American Gunsmithing Institute). You can sign up for free training videos on their site, they send them to you daily. I looked into the PCDI as well but found too many negative reviews.
