Pdw Build Or Buy??

I think nea is my best option cause ill probably switch something things out. Good rifle to tinker with instead of buying something with high value and adding more into it.

something about the novelty of it wears out rather quickly.

Not for me, still enjoy shooting my 7.5" over my 10.5" the shorter the better IMO. I do not shoot outdoors yet, so I haven't found the need for a 18-20" long AR

For me I also preferred to build my PDW, it was a lot of fun to build and a good learning experience assembling and getting familiar with all the internal and external parts that make up an Ar15. Over just buying a complete rifle and adding accessories, which is what I did with my first rifle...Now I have all the tools and know how to assemble an AR, and I have a greater understanding of how the firearm works.

I was at the range shooting my 7.5" and the guy beside me had the NEA 7", He asked to try mine and then asked if I wanted to shoot his after. I personally Was not too impressed with the NEA, it was basically brand new and the bolt would not lock back with an empty magazine. And even when I locked it back manually just removing the mag or giving it a little nudge would drop the bolt again. Not a big problem and most likely easily fixable, but just not something I would be happy with on a brand new rifle. Then again he got it on sale for like $1000 which is a hell of a lot cheaper then I paid to build mine out of high end brand name parts...

I also bought the NEA PDW stock kit, and ended up selling it and buying the TROY kit, it was much better quality and fit and finish IMO. Again more expensive but you get what you pay for

I think ill go nea burnt bronze colour and a sharp bros lower and see how she runs from there. Really beyond that itll just be making it run smooth I love the look of the nea as is I just like the look of the sharp bros warthog. Maybe some of you will hate on it or think it looks like ass but hey. Do you know who could order me in a a NEA who is a dealer?

im also looking at building a PDW. I was looking at that PSA 7.5 incher that irunguns is bringing in... any thoughts on what kind of buffer weight I would be looking at to maintain the reliability?

That is a 7.62x39 upper right? since 7.62x39 runs at a much lower pressure than .223, you should be fine with a standard carbine weigh buffer.

As a first ar i would look at something more versatile like a 10.5. Pdw is cool but 10.5 is still short and can play both cqb and longer range imo.
