Peabody Ammunition request

Hi there. My son inherited one of the old Peabody Canadain Militia rifles from my wife's Dad (Grandpa Peter FTW!) when he passed away. I am not set up for reloading at all, and I would love to get him some 50-60 for this rifle so he can take it out. Any suggestions for anywhere that sells this in a load weak enough for a rifle of this age? (I wouldn't want him to damage this gun, as it would break his heart.)

As far as I can see the only alternative to this is to invest in reloading equipment, track down some brass and the correct loading instructions, dies, etc.
 
The original Canadian Militia Peabody rifles were in 50-60 rimfire and those cartridges are fairly rare and expensive collector items now.
Replacement center-fire firing pins and breech-blocks were available from Dixie Gun Works at one time, but I think they are all gone by now.
Shortened 50-70 brass can apparently be used if you can find the replacement firing pin and breech-block.

Simplest solution is to buy the 56-50 Spencer cases made to take the 22 RF blank as a primer.
BTW the Cdn militia only used 56-50 Spencer ammo in their Peabodys even though they were made for 50-60 ctg. Like shooting 22 Shorts in a Long Rifle arm.
