Pecar Berlin?

Can anyone tell me about this scope? The good and bad? It is a 1 inch tube, 3-7 variable magnification, and fine cross hairs. It says Pecar Berlin Germany on the tube near the eye piece.

Your Pecar was made by Koehler of Germany. Yours is a V-IS Vari-Power, made between 1959-1961. The tube diameter is actually 26 mm (1.024")- a bit larger than one inch, according to Nick Stroebel's Old Rifle Scopes book. These were high quality scopes for their time. Google Pecar, you'll find they are still going. They seem like the kind of company that if you ask them they will probably be able to tell you all about it (in imperfect English.)
