The Black Widow rifles 22LR have arrived, they look nicer than I thought they would. Very nice ergonomic and they come with a pic rail which can be installed for optics. The rifle is incredibly solid and offer a very nice cheek weld for accurate shooting. Threaded barrel and pic rail on forestock offer lots of options for accessories. Shell holder in the stock for easy reloading. We hope to see these in 22mag and 17 HMR eventually.
Price is 449.95

Interesting. I know pictures can sometimes be misleading, but that really looks like a solid little backpacker.

Did they offer up anything regarding pricing?

They do look solid indeed! Not sure on pricing yet but we expect these to be around 450$. Double the price of a Lil badger (we know), but we expect this rifle to be extremely well built and very solid, as expected from PD products. I will be happy to do a full review and breakdown of the rifles once they get here.

Here is some more info from PD:

Our new .22 caliber rifle, ideal for recreational shooting and is easily transportable thanks to the removable fore-end and locking system that allow you to fold the barrel over the stock, making the gun easily stored in a medium size backpack. The stock, made of technopolymer, is light but stable. The barrel is threaded and prepared for installation of a muzzle brake or sound moderator where permitted. The action is drilled and tapped for mounting a dedicated ½ " scope rail.

$450 plus tax and delivery (over $500 all in) is a bit high for an elemental single shot .22.

No legal need for a 19" barrel. Go with a shorter barrel and shorter stock, and the piece would be really compact when folded.

Is there potential for other calibers? .22 Magnum, .22 Hornet come to mind.

Agreed, it is PD's cheapest rifle to date but still pricey considering it's a single shot 22LR. I have already reached out to them to consider a shorter barrel/stock and the possibility of other calibers. I will update when I get a response.

That handguard is weird. I wonder how much weight you could save by getting rid of it all together... At 3.3lbs its slightly heavier than the Badger but getting rid of the foreend might be enough to make it lighter.

Overly funky styling, and to me it seems about $100 too steep. Barrel could be a bit shorter; though I don't know if it would be much smaller if it was folded down. Be nice if it did fold slightly tighter. I think if was specifying what I'd like, it would probably have a little bit shorter barrel as an option, straight grip wood stock, and minimalist fore end. Rear peep would be nice.

And as a survival gun, I'd like to see it chambered in .22 Hornet, or .357 Magnum (or .256 Magnum if I was dreaming a little).

Sorry if it sounds overly critical. Still is a neat idea, and I'm sure it's done well.

someone please enlighten me ...

is there any legal reason why these can't be manufactured to break down like say an old cooey 84 ?

that folding in half thing ( and its not folding in half , more like a 135 degrees ) is ridiculous if you ask me , is still bulky , misshapen and awkward in any backpack.

I could have swore I seen the CEO of Pedersoli at a Euro shotshow YouTube, bragging about a brand new single shot 22 Hornet in the works. Synthetic stocks place to attach red dot optic and a flashlight?

The conversation with a reporter started with the recent interest in a straight pull bolt rifle or carbine in 222 Remington for predator control. This rifle made by another Euro manufacturer.
Then the reporter asked about rumours of a brand new 22 Hornet rifle in the early development stage by Pedersoli.

I'm a big fan of single shot rifles, but I don't see the practicality of this example.
In 22lr, I would prefer a 10/22 takedown.

I think this rifle would do better with a smaller centerfire cartridge, like 204 Ruger or 22 Hornet. Or maybe another more powerful rimfire like the 17 HMR.
