Just sharing my newest rifle! A lovely express type rifle. Just one range trip under its belt right

I only had two types of ammo out. Black Powder 45-70, With a 535gr Bullet with 70.5 Gr of Schuetzen. Unfortunately this was not a good match for this rifle. Grouping was over a 20" spread.

The other loading I had was Winchester 300gr JHP. This loading resulted in very good groups! I'll be attempting to remake this load with 1.5F Swiss and 300gr Campro RNFP FCP. Or RCBS 45-300 Mold. (Open to any feedback on this)

Cool. Didn't know pedersoli made double rifles. Care to say how much that set you back? How spicy can you load these?

Nice group with the 300s! Is that two shots from each barrel or all 4 through one barrel?

Thanks! Two Shots from Each Barrel. I would have done a 6 but ran out of ammo after blasting the gong.

The rifle is rated for 32000 PSI. So should be able to take anything on the shelf.

The rifle retails for $8557.26 at Marstar, ($9000+ After Taxes and Shipping) but I was able to snag this second hand for $4000

L.Parratt,

PM me your email addy and I will send you an article from Black Powder Cartridge Magazine from a few years ago about your rifle including some loads.

very nice Double and very respectable accuracy.

I have a Baikal MP-221 SxS 45-70, been playing with loads for it the last several years, the rifle is not as refined as yours, has thin barrels and an adjustable barrel regulator that works somewhat ok but leaves a lot to be desired.
I found 300 gr campro or Hornadys worked the best, I use 2400 pistol powder and Reloader-7, I can get 4 inch groups at 50 yards but one barrel has a different powder charge than they other to get vertical impacts (Left 1550fps Right 1660fps). going to try 300/340 and 405 cast bullets next, no time too many projects lol.

Using vibration, and compression I was able to get 90 grains of Swiss 1.5 fg with a .032 wad with a bore sized 540 grain paper patch bullet in a 45-70 case. Loads like a torpedo. haha
