These are excellent pistols. A review of MLAIC World Championship results will show that several have been won with the Pedersoli LePage in the Reproduction class.
The percussion version in .36 is well suited to a broad range of hand sizes and is a relatively light, easy-to-manage pistol. Feeding it is also relatively economical and easy, given its like of .350 balls which are commonly available.
In the flintlock version one finds a pistol which is significantly larger than its percussion sibling. Still, its grip shape and trigger position make it useable by shooters with normal-sized hands (think a Morini Medium grip size in ISSF pistols). Some flintlock pistols seem to have been made for people with huge hands - not so the case with the LePage. While I cannot claim any degree of expertise in shooting flintlock firearms I have been astonished by the ease at which I have been able to achieve reliable ignition with the flintlock. The frizzen may be softer than one would like but that's not hard to shoe with harder steel if that is one's preference.
It is important to note the percussion version is rifled while the flint is a smoothbore, thus making them both perfectly suited for their respective MLAIC matches.
