Hi Marstar!

I know that you carry almost all of the David Pedersoli line !

I contacted Pedersoli to know if they would produce the Howdaw Pistol
In a double survival rifle /shotgun size ! They told me that it would be feasible if an importer/ dealer
Would be interested in brigning them in.

So my question is ; would it be possible to have a batch made of rifle made on the Howdaw
Frame in 16 inch barrel in 45/ 410 with a a rifle stock and able to accept heavy 45 colt load?

I know that they won't be cheap but I saw the reviews on the pistol and they are good and Pedersoli
Are wonderfully made firearms.

If they is any interest in these would you import them and carry this project out?

Thank you!
If anybody else is interested say it here so we can
See the the interest. For me a light double rifle/ shotgun
That can handle +p
and take medium games at 75 yards
And small games at 25 yards would be great especialy if it's a nicely finished gun.

I'm in. My preference though would be a straight up 45 LC rifle. Lose the shotgun chamber - or elongate to 454 Casull or l460 S&W if the frame will stand it.

I was thinking the same but I thougt that they would need another platform than the Howdaw! But if they could make it in 45-70 it could accept 2 1/2 .410 shell. Anyway a .45 colt beef up to .44mag pressure is nothing to sneeze at and the 410 is nice option to have !

Quick update,
We received word from Pedersoli that we'll be looking at a minimum order of 50 of these rifles to make a production run. They have not provided a price yet.
I'll update as I have more info

Always love seeing more double rifles on the market, decently priced I'd be very interested
This is actually a project I recently started working on. I'll be making some announcements when I have something concrete, but I'm happy to see that there's some interest in this.

Best regards,
Payam

Great news thank you ! The Howdaw pistol sells for around $1300 or so... it won't be a cheap project but surely a way cheaper than any double rifle out there!

Tell us if there's a possibility for a higher pressure round and or longer pistol round (like a 460 rem.or 454casull). If not a hi power .45 (44 mag. Pressure).

Thank you! Can't wait for answer.

By the way I will be in for one...LOL !

English stock or Prince of Whale stock (semi-grip) for a light slim line ?
Pistol grip and beefier stock?

Marstar, with the fifty rifles ask minimum order is it a fesable thing?

So you are basically asking for a Kodiak double rifle in a lighter frame and with shorter barrels without the 5 grand price tag! If you could I would go with a 454 and 410 chamber and that should give you 45 colt +p loads also

Ajax I doubt that the frame of the Howdaw pistol could take 454 pressure! I would be happy with the 45 colt +P !
But yes if they could make it in 460 or 454 they would sell like hot cakes.

The way I see it this would be a nice classic looking double
Rifle/shotgun for hunting deer up close , protection and survival. As I do not live in grizzly country the higher pressure rounds are not a necessity, but would be nice.

enoch, I like the way you think!

After more thought on the subject if a 45 Long colt with black powder was supposed to be able to take a horse out from underneath a rider with a single action revolver back in the old days so it should be good enough for a deer or even a calf Moose at close range out of the 16 inch barrels like you say! Thinking a little more I would just go with 45 Long colt chamber and rifled barrels for better accuracy! This is where things get expensive in double rifles to get them regulated for both barrels to shoot at point of aim.
As this would be a fun and interesting gun for me I would not worry about the 410, I would just make my own 410 shotshells per se out of 45 Long colt brass or even the 454 brass and load them like the old brass shot shells. There is quite a bit of information online and some YouTube videos on this it’s pretty interesting, actually RCBS makes dies for reloading the shot shells!

The Howdaw pistol has rifled barrels already and they have
Counter rifled "choke" to stop the spinning of lead shot. You could use it a a double sxs 410 shotgun, double 45 colt rifle or a cape gun one 45 colt barrel and one .410 shotgun barrel.

Well I’m glad you asked about this as I’m a double barrel fanatic! I have the Kodiak in 45-70 now so I hope this works out and the price is reasonable as I would definitely like to pull the trigger on one!

Marstar should give us news anytime now on the feasibility, price and is ok ETA. they also hinted at a double rifle project or somerhing!

Come on Marstar keep us informed ! LOL
