Pedersoli Pump Action Jackal .44 mag

To each his own. My Marlin 1894 was about 6.5 pounds, my CVA Scout .44 is about the same wearing a 2.5x compact scope. They seem close to perfect. My Henry brass Big Boy is well over 8 pounds; way too heavy IMHO.

This new gun splits the difference, still too heavy for a gun as mild as a .44mag rifle. I've shot a Pedersoli Lightning pump which felt about the same as my 1894 and Scout. I'm assuming that the Lightning is mechanically and functionally identical to the Jackal? I'd definitely choose the Lightning version; actually think it looks better as well.

The Lightening is nice for sure.

Really like mine. The Jackal44 is a modern redemption of the Lightning rifle but in a truly usable deer hunting caliber instead of a .45 cardboard caliber. I've hunted many deer with an open-sight .44 Magnum, and it always drops.

Nice looking straight grain on that stock..... :)
What's the finish on the receiver? I didn't notice how much contrast there was in the other pictures.

It's a kind of blue Cerakote, really looking blue when I opened the box. Look way more blue than gray.

The flash makes it look like sand blasted stainless.

Generally I'd prefer a little shorter barrel and a full length magtube but other then the slightly bulbous rear stock and the rear sight on the barrel it's a nice looking gun.

I would prefer a rear peep sight at the back of the action and no rear sight on the barrel.

Finally handled one of these at CSC. Strikes me as being a perfect blend of everything. Going to read more into how well it actually functions and how strong its action is (has to handle stout deer / Black Bear loads) , but otherwise I'm sold.

I’m in the same boat.
It checks all the boxes

To those that have it how smooth is the action? Is it a joy to use ? It looks like it would put a smile on your face every time you went hunting.

Out here it’s hunting uses would be niche but I’d certainly do some thick bush white tail hunting each year just to put the gun to use.

Looks like that stuff would pack a wallop and it’s only 2$ a round… #### the savings on ammo could pay for this rifle in a season or two lol
