I've been collecting peep sights for years and have never come across one of these in all my days. Anyone here ever seen or know what this peep sight fits?

At first I thought an old Remington pump but it's not cantered underneath of it.

Hole spacing is roughly .700".

I looked up the Redfield Series 102 sight, and it appears that the aperture base is flat, to mount on the gallows arm, rather than curved. It almost looks like it could have been designed as the top half of a scope ring, except the position of the screws are wrong.

There was a peep sight made in Sweden for Stiga and M96 Mausers that mounted exactly like that, that the only thing I can recall.
I too have bought or picked up peep sights that I have no idea what there for.
Love the thought and work that go into them!

I pulled something very similar off of a P14 .303 rifle. I'll look for it tonight and post a picture. That sight looks like it would fit on the back of an SKS on the dust cover.

At a vague guess and using the lack of even basic elevation adjustments, maybe this rear sight is designed for a slug shooting shotgun, with the second guess of a 22 pump action or early 22 semi-automatic rifle.

maybe or maybe not

I'd be more concerned with an inability to easily adjust for windage; whereas elevation issues are less variable, and can be resolved by regulating the height of the front sight.

That looks very similar to the rear sight that was on my old Stevens Favorite (original???? doubtful). It also had an odd ball front sight that I believe was paired to the rear peep.
