Hello all, I have a question for Browning T-Bolt owners with a Williams peep sight p/n 63303 fitted:

I'm looking to put iron sights on my new production T-Bolt and I'm hoping to get some information from the community before I start buying parts. What I need to know is how high (ideally, to the peep with the elevation ramp at the lowest and highest adjustment) the Williams rear peep sight sits above the receiver so I have an idea of how tall a front sight I'll need.

Measuring, the top of the receiver sits just under a quarter inch higher than the muzzle, and guesstimating from the picture on William's website the centre of the peep is about another quarter inch above the sight base. With a 3/16" ramp and what I'm assuming is a 1/4" high front sight (they list overall height of the front sight, so assuming it's a standard 0.090" deep dovetail), the front sight will sit 7/16" above the muzzle, which in turn will sit about 3/16" above the receiver, and roughly centered in the elevation range of the peep without being an obnoxiously tall assembly. I think.

Any information would be greatly appreciated! Ideally I'd get the rear sight in hand, take my measurements, and order exactly the combination of ramp and front sight height I'd need. However I'd rather not pay a fortune for shipping and waiting half an eternity for parts to arrive!

Thanks in advance!

I can't answer your question directly, but if you contact William's with your firearm model, they should be able to tell you which front sight will work with the peep of your choice... conversely, I know that Skinner can give you the best pairing of their products and you can extrapolate the measurements from their recommendations.

I scoped my T-Bolt target and fit it to a Boyd's At-One stock.

Thanks for the quick reply! I've sent Williams an email. For some reason I rarely think to contact the manufacturer, and try and figure out what I need based solely on the information they provide. I've already spec'ed out what I need from Williams; if they can't give me definitive answers I'll contact Skinner.

That's a beautiful setup! How do you like the stock? I'm outfitting my T-Bolt as an analogue for a Biathlon-type target rifle, seeing how I can't justify a $3000 Anschütz.

However, on that note, I just noticed that they also offer Globe-type front sights and mounts... great. More options to compare!

The At-One stock is very nice, push button adjustments, solid feel... it rides the bags well, and allows a number of different rest options.

I have outfitted a number of rifles with various rear peeps and the Lyman Aug 17A Globe sight... if you go that route, I would recommend a set of Lee Shaver Globe insert cards.
