Peep sight on lever guns?

I hear good things great thing about peeps, so I ordered a skinner for my Marlin 194 44 mag, should be here any day, excited to try it out. Williams makes a couple for the win 71, same model but one has target knobs, supposed to use original holes in the receiver, might just order a set for mine to try

The Skinner sights that I purchased for my Marlin 336 are useless. You need a new front blade that is higher. I have not been able to locate the correct brand/part to date. Sights should be sold as a matching combo or not at all.

Got my new Skinner sights today, within 20 min. of opening them I had the old sights removed and the new front sight, dovetail blank, peep installed and was on my way to the range. All I ended up doing was a bit of windage adjustment, these things are awesome. I've got a couple different size peeps I'm going to try after I reload some 44 mag in the next few days, but I was super impressed with the standard size one that came with it. They also look very nice on the rifle, the fit and finish are really nice and compliment my Marlin very well. Thanks to Andy Larsson and the folks at Skinner Sights I feel like a kid at Christmas, lol

I like to use peeps as I feel they are more accurate than conventional. The reason is that most peeps are mounted on the rear of the rifle. I shoot better as a result. Other folks may be different.

I do like a narrow (non-beaded) blade for a front sight.

I found that adding a Williams rear peep sight to my Win 94 made a huge difference to accuracy and overall shooting fun.

One of the things I hate about modern rifles is in spite of the high tech CNC machinery available gum companies are generally not providing peep sights as an option like they did back in the early years. IMHO they are missing a market.

You need a new front blade with any receiver sight, not just a Skinner, because the receiver profile is higher than the barrel contour.

Speaking of new front sights, my new Henry has that beaded front blade sight.

Anybody know where I can get a replace straight blade? Called some suppliers and all they carry are the beads, which is a bit of a bummer.
