Peep sight or ghost ring?

Which would you prefer on your Marlin 1895, and why? Can a Williams peep sight be mounted in conjunction with a front sight from a XS Ghost Ring on a Marlion 1895? Thanks!!

If you get a set of skinner sights you get both a peep and a ghost right. The quality of his stuff is exceptional and the price is right too. Thats what I run on my marlin.

With the Williams all you have to do is remove the aperture and you have a ghost ring. That is what I do with mine. Sight in using the peep and when hunting in the dirty stuff I remove it for quick sighting. I also use a Skinner brass front blade.

Nope. the XS sight is not threaded for Williams aperatures. The XS sight is a specialty item IMHO. I have one and like it, but I have several Williams receiver sights and like them better for most uses. With the Williams, I can remove the aperture insert for "ghost ring" functionality, and screw in the aperture for more precision whenever i want. If I was to equip a rifle for close range, fast action shooting only, the XS system is the hands-down winner.

The question was whether the XS front sight would work with the Williams rear sight, not whether the XS sight would take Williams apertures. There shouldn't be a problem as long as the appropriate height of front sight is chosen to work with the rear sight's adjustment range.

If money is the desiding factor buy the Skinner sights there stuff is well built and the price is incredible! I also have an early X-S sight on my 1894 357 carbine and I just installed a taller marbles front sight and it works great! cheers Dale

Whoops! sorry I read the question wrong. I agree with the above.
