Hi guys, well this week I went out hunting for mule deer, and when I saw a small buck @ approx. 35yards I got ready to place the shot. When I fired no buck went down. It was disappointing. I have been using my Mauser 98 with Willaim peep sights for approx. 4 years and it always shot dead on when used properly. I know it was not my shot, so I went on my personal range to see whats wrong. ( the rifle was sighted in 4 years ago dead on at 100Yards.) and even this spring I took it out and shot dead on. But this time at 100yards I found the rifle shot approx. 6-7inches high! With the William peep sight being at the same setting as from the beginning. I tried to adjust it but it seems to be shooting high?

the rifle is in good condition, and the bore and rifling is good so what's the problem?

Different lot of ammo? Different brand of ammo? Different weight of bullets? Front sight damaged? Loose bedding screws? Loose rear sight? Has the rear sight been bumped?
