Who likes peep sights? I have them on these two as well as use them on rifles that are factory equipped with them like the Ruger Scout.

Always amazes me how accurate you can be by aligning 2 little drilled holes in a piece of steel.

I have a Skinner peep on my R92. It's the only gun I went out of my way to change the sights on. It is certainly a lot better than the factory rear the gun came with. I have been an irons guy for most of my life. It's only the last few years I have owned more than an optic or three. Peeps are almost always my preference.

They are about as fast as it gets for quick shots and they are also typically fully capable of great accuracy. What's not to like?

I fitted XS ghost ring sights to my R92's & they work best fer me.

^I didn't even know XS made that, poor Google skills on my part I guess. I did want a sight to replace the safety so I could keep the rail I bought over the rear sight dovetail. Steve's Guns stopped shipping to Canada so I didn't seem to have many options. I will have to upgrade I suppose!

The XS model for the earlier, pre-angle eject model Win 94 be good fer the model 92.
I reworked the stock safety lever to a button profile that fits neatly under the XS sight and fit 'er back in into the bolt in the fire position and sealed 'er
in place with a dab of Loctite blue. No aftermarket replacement needed. ;)

I have a skinner peep on my cz 527. I once shot an moa group with S&B fmj. Not an everyday thing for my ability, but not far from common. With barrel mounted sights? No way

Have used skinner sights on a lot of guns. Handi rifles, Tikka, Henry, ruger american etc. They are good but the older ones were prone to rusting. Might be better now

I have a SAKO branded peep on my Aiii. It's a cool idea with the multiple ranges but both are within the mpbr of most rifles.

With the aperture threaded in it is a small window.

Maybe a holdover from the Era when scopes were not used by many. It seems like it does away with the fast target acquisition aspect of peep sights though

I have hunted and competed with open and aperture sights far more than with optics since I started shooting regularly in 1966. I still hunt with iron sights on some of my rifles.
