Does anyone have a good source for a pelican case for a reasonable price? Looking for a large one to put my 700P in. Thanks

Close the www and you'll have the case you want. Very good price.

I've bought off them a few times and have had great customer service - they are in Ottawa and you get FREE SHIPPING.

Cheers, Carl

I believe the entire Hardig Storm line was purchased by Pelican...Regardless the Storm design is far superior...

custom case co is a small shop, but since I live in Ottawa, I showed up on the doorstep and bought it that way (I was nervous about the website). I can confirm they have a pretty good inventory on hand of pelican cases and they were the cheapest Canadian distributor I could find.

You're right, pelican did buy them out, but for right now they are still producing the separate storm line... at least according to their website. I'm not sure if that is going to continue, or just to get rid of the inventory that Hardigg had built up.

Bass Pro in Vaughn (ontario) has them for $229 ish but you'd be into shipping charges as well.
Plus you'd have to worry that they could ship you their lunch by accident as well.

Pelican and Hardigg are being kept seperate as some people like one but not the other and by keeping both lines going they hold onto the market share of both companies.

I like the Hardigg Storm Case latches far more than the Pelican ones. Others like the Pelican.

customcaseco has good prices, if you want one quick go check out your local acklands grainger or Greggs distributors dealer or any similar parts store they can all pretty much get pelican or UK, Underwater Kinetics. I first went with Pelican but for me the latches are much to stiff so switching to all UK. the 1750 is what you need for your 700, 1720 too short.

why are the storm cases better than pelicans? multi-word answers please? :D
was in the market for a pelican case but now youve piqued my curiosity regarding the storm cases....

believe there is a difference in the latches that some people prefer. I have a Pelican for my camera gear and haven't seen any issues/problems with it's latches

There are several differences that I prefer in the Storm case. On is the latches as was mentioned... I do prefer the double lock style of the Storm case and have never lost any skin to mine, unlike some other cases that I have used.

There is also a difference in the polymer resin used between the two types of cases. I'm not sure if there is really a difference between them.

The pressure relief valve on the Storm is much the same design of the Pelican, so I don't think there's that much difference between them.

I started using Storm Cases because they were locally availible. I've liked them and had good luck with them, so personally I'll continue to use them. I really is just a personal preferance.:D

got mine from optimal cases and lights.

hey, free shipping on orders over 150$ (mind you I bought a pistol case so I paid the shipping :()

After opening dozens of Pelican cases at one time to check serial#s the one Storm case sure seemed easy to open. The push button locks on the latches seem far easier to use(IMO).
