Good day,

Today the Pembroke Outdoor Sportsman's Club had its first official IDPA affiliation club match at the POSC indoor range. The match consisted of 6 stages for a minimum of 93 rounds.

The stages varied and utilized... concealed (hidden) pop up and swinging targets and hostages, a target moving the width of the range from left to right, low light and shiloutted targets with strobe and multiple rotatating flashing dome lights etc. Competitors were segrated from that actual range and could not see, scope out or figure out any stage prior to shooting... they all shot each stage cold.

We had a total of 16 competitors who all had a great time and enjoyed the match. A particular shooter to note: Eric H. placed 3rd overall and second place in the Custom Defensive Pistol Division using a single stack Norinco .45ACP. This was Eric's first IDPA match and it should be noted that Eric is only 13 years old. Eric's Father competed as well and placed 3rd in the CDP Division and is a very proud Father.

Well done to all competitors and thank you to all who helped set up and make this match happen.

That sounds really fun, actually.

Oh we did.:D :D :dancingbanana: :dancingbanana:

Lights turned off, flashing red lights, yeah!!!!!!!!

Great shoot, great camaraderie. Lots of jokes, mostly at me because a shoot a real gun. A wheelie.:dancingbanana: :dancingbanana:

I placed 6th overall, and it was only my second time shooting my 625. To say the least, I'm pleased. I also placed 1st in ESR. (I was the only one):dancingbanana:

A very big THANK YOU to those who organised and run the shoot.

As being one of the competitors in this match, I would like to extend my thanks to you and your posse for making this a fun and very realistic match.
It was my first shoot under low lights, stobes etc.. as well as most of the other competitors.
Again hats of to all who participated and who set it up.
Troy

Great win for you Sandman, It was good to see everyone's smiling faces as they finished each stage. There was a lot of humor thrown around as well. We are glad everyone enjoyed themselves.

Later on in the evening (Christmas Dinner at the Club) Eric mentioned that he would be signing autographs later.... Sandman said "I'll sign your cast" Yes, lots of humor all around.

Pete,

You forgot to put in "Evil, beer drinking, foul-mouthed, bad-guy-thumping elf!":D

Sounds like I missed one hell of a great match!!!

Earl

Wrong, just not so nice, Shirley Temple sipping, swears a little (there's that word again - LITTLE), smacking little (again) Elf.:dancingbanana: :dancingbanana:

Yeah you really missed a great match.

Just a question for the furture. I am setup for IPSC but not IDPA. Would you be allowed to shoot it as IPSC just for the fun of it?

Tritium, this kid (Eric) was good, a lot like CurtDad's Son Sig. These kids are the future of the sports. Eric and his Father don't have much, so we at Smith Tactical Systems and Valleyguns are going to donated some equipment, reloading supplies and help sponser Eric anyway we can. He is a very well mannered respectful boy and is a hoot to have around... and a Dam good shooter, you will like him Tritium.

Hi Guys,

Just finished up the Official results and here they are:

Great match guys and thanks for participating, We will try to put one on at least every three weeks over the winter.

Thanks Again
Steve

P.S. Tritium, you missed a good one and now that you are not the shortest person on the range anymore, maybe you will come out of retirement!!!!:) :)

Hi Freman,

You are allowed to shoot one IDPA match as a non-member. After that you must join, and it is very reasonable. There are strict rules about equipment, however this can all be overcome with minimal expense. I think you would like it and there is a club in Smith Falls, closer to were you live that put on excellent matches, so give them a call or contact me for phone numbers

Trillium:

Well behaved unlike you.

Yeah I know I'm a fossil, but a sneaky one. Hey I'm not offended by the wheelie jokes 'cause you can't shoot wheelies - don't know how to hold or load them. Pointy things come out of the small hole at the end.:D :D
