Picked this up a while ago from a local gunshop. They listed it as a Browning BBR .243. Saw the pics and realized it was an FN produced Browning with all Sako steel. Built in 1965 and no signs of salt wood. The stock finish was crazed really badly and the wood grain was practically invisible. Stripped it and put 15 or 16 coats of Tung oil on it. A pretty striking piece of Claro walnut, I think. Barrel is unbelievably light. Shot moa with the first factory loads I could grab for it, Federal 80 grain loads.

I read that FN did the same with the all the Safaris. Nice piece of wood with hand checkering then slather the whole thing, checkering and all with varnish.
